Vintage Australian Timber Brass & Bakelite SS Arcadia Nut Cracker
The SS Arcadia was built by P&O in Scotland and was launched in 1953. Its primary purpose was for the UK to Australia transit route. Later on it was re-birthed as a cruise liner, after airplanes replaced the UK to Australia route. The base is turned timber with a brass winding mechanism to crack nuts. Overall, the item is in good condition, with just a little chip to the bakelite wheel, as shown.
