Pair of Antique French Art Nouveau Auguste Moreau Bronze Sculptural Lamps
Good general condition, commensurate with the age, as per the photos. Gorgeous patinated heavy bronze sculptures on timber plinths. Wired and working as lamps. Antique milk glass shades. Titled "Nereide" (sea nymphs of Greek mythology, daughter of Nereus. They were said to be goddesses of the sea's rich bounty and protectors of sailors and fishermen, coming to the aid of those in distress). Each figure is signed to base Auguste Moreau, along with a plaque on the rear and one on the plinth. Auguste Moreau (1834-1917). Working condition, as shown. . Great to use or add to a collection.
